``While others are showing their creation I am just trying to expose my soul`` - Artaud


The aim of the workshop is to guide participants to re-discover their personal dance and body, guided by their actual sensation, to believe in the messages the body conveys to you and to play in improvisation and composition in flux, always trying to experiment the most surprising toward yourself.

The workshop consists of exercises to sharpen our sensitivity by intensifying our perceptions. We will work with very precise physical attention, encouraging mind to evaporate at the same time. Through this collective yet individual journey, everyone should unravel the secret tune related to one?s own environment and condition.

An artful path of invisible discoveries. A process from the self to the other : Eros, dreams, poetry, metaphor, death, joy... with delicacy, delight, sacrifice and elegance toward emptiness.

Both beginners and experienced people are welcome.


STRUCTURE

BODY PREPARATION
Movement exercises and Feldenkrais awareness through movement lessons by Berenika Shneider.

TO BE MOVED
Exercises about matter, textures, presence, openness, unknown, limits, imagination.
With a precise and enjoyable attention. As blood circulation, on a precise topography enchaining images as the brain does in our dreams.
From a solid body to liquid and vapor. The deep connection with your body, this sinking in time, openness and transparency seeking to tear life from the body... what is life? This invisible communication.

BECOMING ECOSYSTEM
As the self is inevitably open to the outside, strongly affected by it. How many ways may happen for you to be penetrated by the air and the essence of time becoming one with the place?
From a single generating motif, often very simple, the dance advances and transforms by the influence of whatever stimulations floating the room.
Improvisation, space, intuition, time sailing, silence, intervals, loosen, openness, trust, independence and connection.

AFFINITY WITH NATURE
To be just what you are, not trying to look like something else. The nobility of a mountain is not its height or its metaphorical ascension, but just its being a mountain. Its nakedness, its pure present, its displayed presence: its way of staying.
Only nature has this exposed nakedness, of that which has never look at itself in a mirror, that which has never split or been divided. The nakedness of something that doesn`t know of itself, without reflexion neither consciousness of itself, nakedness without nakedness. As we may have been sometime in a past that maybe we have never lived, although we can`t help to remember; because further or deeper than our consciousness we are always longing for it, relentlessly waiting for it.

DURATION OF THE WORKSHOP : 4 - 5 hours / day ( 4 hours if the whole day inside, 5 hours the days we go outside to cover the walking time to the sites)

MARIANELA LEON RUIZ
Butoh dancer and visual artist.
Together with visual arts she was studying performing arts since 1997. Sua Urana introduced her to butoh dance in 2000. Later she has studied with many butoh dancers. But she particularly shares Moeno Wakamatsu and Masaki Iwana`s approach. She has been intensively working with them 2003-2010. Since 2011 she is working with Monica Valenciano, expanded butoh.
She has played more than 160 performances (mostly her own creations) in many countries of Europe, Israel and Japan.
She is teaching butoh workshops since 2007 and dance-movement for disabled people. She is now based in Madrid, where she has open Butoh Madrid: a poetic laboratory to study butoh dance and flow toward other arts and vital experiences.
She feels awareness and poetic freedom for the body are great tools for everybody to playfully handle our lives and understand the necessary respect for others` voices. The world is a polyphony.


The workshop will take place in Moshav Giv`at Ye`arim, near Jerusalem.

There will be also 1 day introduction workshop on the 17/07 - 250 NIS
